About Us

Ellesmere Port & Neston Conservative Association is a modern forward-looking Association of like-minded people from all walks of life rich, poor, young or old with a common belief that their country would be run better by a Conservative government and having Conservative controlled local councils.

The constituency was created after the Parliamentary Boundaries review in 1982 and was held by Dr. Mike Woodcock M.P. for the Conservatives until his retirement in 1992.

The constituency stretches from the suburbs of Chester in the east across the base of the Wirral Peninsular to Parkgate in the west.  The Constituency covers the whole of the area covered by Ellesmere Port and Neston Borough Council plus the Wards of Elton and Mickle Trafford which are within the Chester City Council area.
In addition we are also here to deal with the concerns of the constituents and the issues that they have on a daily basis. We try to deal with them to resolve them as quickly as possible. This might be anything from nuisance teenagers causing trouble in the neighbourhood to cracked pavements that need bringing to the attention of the council.

As well as the work that we do within the association there is also a great social events calendar that is regularly organised.

Anyone is welcome to become a part of any branch that they choose. They can join in their work by canvassing - either by telephone or visiting - or by delivering some leaflets or they can just be part of the social aspect of that particular branch.

Everyone is a volunteer and we always hope people are able donate a small amount of their time this in turn shares the load across the other members and volunteers.

The Conservative team in the constituency consists of the Association officers, the office staff in Station Road, the County/Borough/City Councillors, and innumerable and indispensable foot-soldiers!  The Association Officers form the management team of the Constituency, responsible for day-to-day management and strategic decisions. Together with Branch Officers, our members and staff, our aim is to get Conservatives elected at local, national and European elections. It sounds serious, and it is, but it is also fun!

•  We currently have a branch for the Neston Area of the constituency covering Neston town, Little Neston, Parkgate, Ness and Burton and they make an excellent port of call for an informal chat.  Contact their Chairman Mrs Moira Andrews on 0151 336 3444 for details of their activities and extensive calendar of social events. 

• You can simply send us an email on epconsa@btconnect.com and we will get back to you.
  The recommended level of the annual Membership subscription is only £25 (£5 for those lucky enough to be within the age limits for Conservative Future).  Anything about these levels is a very welcome and needed bonus.  We receive no money from CCHQ, all the money we spend on our campaigns has to be raised locally.

• abolishing Stamp Duty for 9 out if 10 first-time buyers (and not just for the next 12 months!)
• abolishing Inheritance Tax for homes under £1million
• cutting paperwork to get more police out on the streets fighting crime
• introducing teaching by ability for every child with tough discipline in every classroom
• scrapping pointless targets and bureaucracy in the NHS

• to inform all our constituents about the political activities and social events of the Association

• to encourage membership, fellowship and participation in the Conservative Party
