Andrew Miller voted to increase his paid holidays.*
Stuart Penketh the Conservative Candidate for Ellesmere Port and Neston today criticised the MP for voting to include a 12 day break in the Parliamentary session in February.
"When the rest of the Country are forced to tighten their belts and stay at home due the longest recession this country has ever faced, our MP has voted himself an extra paid holiday".
Stuart Penketh argued that the ability of Members of Parliament to vote for pay rises and extra holidays should be removed and placed with an independent committee.
"When the general view of politicians has never been so low, I think Labour MPs are becoming increasingly detached as how they are viewed by the public. Not one MP from the Conservatives or the Liberal Democrats voted for this amendment. Surely this proves how despondent Labour MPs are about backing Brown's increasingly shambolic Government".
